Colombia’s capital city has experienced a gastronomic boom in recent years, with an immense offer that encompasses all styles, prices and experiences. However, in terms of flavors, it is not necessary to recommend a restaurant or chef name in particular to find those that are part of Bogotá ‘s soul, and that can be found in almost any corner of this great Andean metropolis.
Maybe these dishes and meals do not appear in fancy guides precisely because of their simplicity, which gives them an immense cultural value and allows any visitor to taste what the locals eat in their day to day.
For breakfast: Buñuelo
This delicious circular object, which may entice you to play as if it were a ball, spins every day on its way to the mouths of thousands of people each morning.
For snack: Yucca cake
Made with Yuca, a root of great nutritional and cultural value, it is stuffed with meat. Some of them can reach such a large size that they could almost be taken for lunch.
For drinking: Chicha
This alcoholic beverage can only be obtained in certain specialized places such as the historical center and other traditional neighborhoods. It was the queen of the party in these lands before being dethroned by beer. Remember to drink with moderation because it has some kick!
For tasting: Feijoa, Guanábana and Pomarrosa
