Providence island was discovered around 1498, when buccaneers from Holland, Spain, Great Britain and Jamaica came to this small island. Its name came after when the first habitants thought it was a gift from god. Its economy is based on tourism specially scuba diving and snorkeling. Providence is surrounded by the second biggest barrier reef in the Caribbean, making it must-see destination for divers and sea lovers in general.

Pick up at CTG airport. Meet your destination specialist and start your trip with a fantastic dinner. We will make reservations for you in a great restaurant in the city to prepare yourself for the great time ahead.
Take a 90-minute flight to San Andres Island. Enjoy a tour of the Island and the most authentic ( and delicious ) local food for lunch. Take your flight in the afternoon to arrive to the marvelous Old Providence Island. Enjoy the Sunset from one of the pristine beaches at your accommodation.
Enjoy a healthy breakfast to be ready for this wonderful Scuba Diving day! Our Diver instructor will take the group to the dock and give you the first hints on what you can expect in the immersion sites you will be visiting today. To keep in mind: the Island is the 3rd largest reef in the world and the 2nd in the Caribbean sea. In the Afternoon: Enjoy a Historical tour around the Island or chill at your favorite beach spot.
In this second diving day you will leave early in the morning for new immersion sites. This sanctuary has a big variety of diving sites where Marine biodiversity and the particular characteristics of the land are a mix rarely found around the planet. In the afternoon: your expedition leader will take you to Santa Catalina, were you can also do some Kayaking. You can also have some private beach time. Recommended sites: Southwest Bay, Manzanillo and Fresh water.
This is a day for hiking, sea turtles and amazing reef fish! In the morning, you can do an optional medium-level hike through the forest reserve called “The Peak”. It is the highest peak in Providence (350 mm). In the afternoon: take the boat for your last adventure and go to “Cayo Cangrejo” (Crab Key) to do some snorkeling in the reef and see the beauty closer to the surface.
Early in the morning you will be picked up for your 8:00 am flight to San Andres and then to Cartagena. You will arrive around 1:00 pm to this UNESCO heritage city and can choose to have a free afternoon or a wonderful walking tour around the Old city.

Your expedition leader is Juliana Gonzalez. She is a Marine Biologist, a SSI advance open water instructor and a PADI open water instructor. She have been diving as a profesional for ten years, have more than 4000 log dives (between trainig and taking fundivers). In her own words: “I love the ocean and I don’t just take people diving but give them many insights about what they’ll find underwater”.
